Reverse Resources won 3rd prize and €150 000 at the first ever Global Change Award in Stockholm. We are very honored!

The Global Change Award is one of the world’s biggest challenges for early stage innovation and the first such initiative in the fashion industry. It is handed out by the H&M Conscious Foundation, an independent non-profit global foundation with a mission to create long lasting positive change and improve living conditions. By catalyzing green, truly ground-breaking ideas the aim of the annual challenge is to protect the planet (climate, resources & ecosystems) by closing the loop for fashion.

Five winners were selected from 2700 ideas from 112 different countries. The fact that our idea received 3rd prize is a clear signal to garment manufacturers and the fashion industry in general that such solutions are needed. We simply cannot go on depleting natural resources but must invent solutions that make industrial upcycling possible. Our idea will help to achieve this goal.

The award ceremony took place in Stockholm's town hall - same place where Noble Prize Awards Ceremony is held - followed by a gala dinner in its magnificent Golden Hall. Ann's emotional interview (see here) echoes well what we all felt at the even.

Dinner in the Golden Hall

Winning the Global Change Award has already opened several doors for us both inside H&M and among the sustainability community worldwide. In addition to a substantial financial boost the award entails a booth-camp by the KTH Royal Institute of Technology, a field-work to H&M factories in Shanghai, and year-long consulting services from Accenture.

All we have to do now is work hard.
